I say this a lot and I mean it. To grow any business, requires determination – a true grit that can see you through the shitty times, but it also takes:
- KNOWING YOUR CLIENT EXPLICITLY
Let me tell you a story.
Whilst I was pregnant, I had this cool ideal about how I could help people build their businesses. It was an online summit where I got together with experts in their fields and it would be held over a few days. Ultimately it would get you visible / finding the right social platform / finding your ideal clients and it was going to be great. The problem; timing!
I was 8 months pregnant and I didn’t have the time to prep it before the baby got here. Love it or hate it, the timing was out and for me, it held a lot of resistance. I could never quite get to it. Like the prehistoric Squirrel in Ice Age, grabbing for that bloody acorn….that was me!
Everyone was excited to be part of it and then I had to put a stop to it.
The next month, I went on Facebook and someone else was doing it!!!!!
I was so upset!
What the actual fuck! That was my idea!
The morale of the story is this:
Don’t hang around on your ideas. If you know it’s what your clients want, then go do it and even better, to save you time and make it even greater, collaborate with some of the greats out there. Reach out to them and tell them that you would love for them to be on board. It gives you credibility, it gives you more visibility because they will be sending the idea out to their list(s) and ultimately it gets you clients, which in turn, means you can help more people!
